Troubleshooting common problems
Problem: The chapter never finishes loading...
I don't know why this happens, but it can usually be fixed by clicking the refresh button. The problem is caused by miscommunication between your computer, my server, or some other place on the route. The first time you view a chapter, a number of resource files are also loaded, and sometimes they don't communicate with each other at first. To my knowledge, there are no spyware filters or other security programs that block the series.
Problem: There is no option to continue the chapter...
I'm working on removing this error entirely from the series. Sometimes this happens when I read through a chapter too quickly. Sometimes the characters don't stand in the right place and their speech goes out of frame. Sometimes the characters are waiting for a cue that never arrives. If you see this error, fill out a bug report.
Problem: I started a chapter and everything is in the upper-left corner of the frame...
It's wacky, I know. It's the strangest error in the series and it seems to happen often to frequent visitors. The easiest way to solve it is to click on the "restart" button below the chapter. That usually clears it up. I'm still trying to isolate what causes this error, but in the meantime I'll try to add something to detect and fix it automatically.
Problem: Everyone moves very slowly...
This was a major problem about a year ago, until I rewrote parts of the animation engine. The problem can be caused by two things: 1. Your computer might be too old to support the animation. I recommend viewing on a computer with a processing speed of at least 1 GHz. The series was tested down to 750 MHz without speed problems. 2. There could be memory leak causing the slowdown. The leak could be in my animation engine, in the browser application, or in your operating system. I have experienced a slight slowdown in certain chapters using Firefox and IE. The problem seemed to be temporarily fixed by minimizing the browser window for a few seconds.
