Story 7: Case of the Camera Obscura

I found another clue!! In chapter 10 when Crystal is in the shed with Annabelle you can see that there is just 1 glove just like the one in the pic. The Sheriff opened the door took the glove, put it on Turnip while in that room and, ran.

THe room is the camera room

Annabelle thought that the camera was set up to catch people messing with the witch room, and knows something about who was messing with the stuff. Further she says: "I think if someone really wanted for Rebecca to lose her powers, that person can say so publicly." This is referring to ALEX not the sheriff. He knows his mom is a witch, and he doesn't like it.
The decanter is important to Rebecca for more than the treasure. In fact, it may have been stolen and/or bait for more than the treasure. The decanter belonged to Barlow's Aunt Vedalia. And when we saw her summoned, there was a single vase with a flower in it. That could be the decanter. The decanter could be nessecary to summon Vedalia...
How did Alex research for his book? If he used the decanter to summon Vedilia to ask questions, that could explain his interest in the decanter, however that doesn't seem as strong.

That couldn't be it because he finished his book before the decanter was stolen...or did he? hmmmmmmmmmmmm....

um, where did we see her summoned? I don't remember a vase with flowers in it when she was summoned. which chapter are you referring to I mean.

Alex's book is about the founding of spider cliff, Vedalia was not alive then, ergo there is no reason to summon her

The vase is Mayor Misplaced: Chapter 8 Vedalia speaks up. But looking at it agian, next to the slide with the decanter in it, the shape of the two is very different, so they aren't the same vase. But yeah, it doesn't seem in Alex's character to summon anyone, nor does it make things consistant.
Assuming that Alex and Annabelle were in Rebecca's room, and that they stole the camera, and that Alex wants his mother to not be a witch (but doesn't want to confront her about it), what is a plausable reason that Alex would be in that room?

ooh, big bombshell so to speak in there!
I wonder where he got that info that Alex and Annabelle were kissing (I was like 'eew' when I saw that but laughed). I don't think it was a full on sexual kiss, but you know...
also, why would Eliza take the long way around?...hmm?

So, I don't know much about photography, but if you take a picture with a subject fairly close in focus, would the background then also be in focus.
If Annabelle is involved, the enlargement that she took could be a second picture (taken maybe with another camera. The clock isn't in the second picture, so it doesn't have to be taken at the same time.
Also, how does Eliza factor in to the mystery. Her behavior is abnormal.

yea, she is acting a bit strange in this story, and I really doubt she took the long way around just for the scenery.

It could be said that this case is winding towards the end. I might answer a few last-minute questions in a sly sort of way. I just want to prepare you by saying that Barlow WILL solve the case in chapter 17 but there's still a very sneaky clue to be found in that chapter if you look hard enough.

sneaky clue in chapter 16 or 17? ;)
