Though the idea of Alex and Annabelle is cute, the fact she is a zombie makes things.. icky.

And even if Barlow and Crystal are the most obvious to get together there are never garantees.

if u take a certain "route" in this new chap. (8) Barlow asks Alex why he's wearing a tie and Alex says it never hurts to look nice.
Barlow asks if Alex is trying 2 impress someone and Alex says
"well, there are more women in the town now, and even though they're evil and probably plotting the downfall of s. cliff it never hurts to look presentable."
so alex is definitely crushin' on either crystal or annabelle. i think prob. it's Annabelle but a Crystal-Barlow-Alex love triangle could be interesting :)

In a different path he says something to the effect of that neither of them are evil or scary, I don't remember the exact phrasing but I do remember this:
Barlow: You have more brains than people give you credit for.
Alex: That's what Annabelle said, but I think she was just hungry.
A love triangle doesn't seem very likely to me, I think with Crystal it's just that he now accepts her right to live and can see that she could be in danger soon in relation to the case (but then, Barlow is the only one who can't). But he got all nervous when Barlow and Crystal questioned him about going to Annabelle for help with the photographs and is now wearing the tie, which would impress Annabelle a *lot* more than it would Crystal.

wearing tie to look smart... to have brains

He is also wearing a tie to look smarter... better quality brains... I know who that would appeal more to.

BTW, Annabelle isn't exactly the iky kind of zombie either. Aside from her beutiful hair and cute demeanor, there is the fact that she is NOT decomposing. In fact, the only thing odd thing about her looks is that she is blue, and thats not a problem (its also perfectly UNIFORM blue color, which again, not something a cadavar will normally have). Unless she smells (which I somehow doubt) then she would appear completely alive and normal to many with the exception of maybe being cold to the touch and not seen breathing (but its hard to actually SEE someone breathing many times).
I am wondering why she is drawn that way (I guess it would just look gross otherwise... but she is the first and smartest and strongest zombie from the batch, maybe the magic is preserving her, not to mention all the other unique non zombish things about her, definatly a permanent character with room for development, and possibly a romance.)

I think Annabelle looks pretty well 'preserved' because most of the time since her death was spent down under the marsh. (Right?) Depending on what type of marsh fluids and marsh critters are down there, she might have been kept from decaying.

Also, I predict that some time in the future, there will be a weird love triangle between Alex, Annabelle, and Annabelle's ex-boyfriend A.B. Bean. (A human, a zombie, and a spirit... call Jerry Springer!)

Seriously though, I bet that will happen if A.B. Bean gets brought back somehow.

EDIT: As an afterthought, I wonder if Annabelle is becoming attracted to Alex because he was possessed by ol' Alistair in that previous story?

guys, don't forget that in the wednesay that wasnt, they destroyed the only physical piece of him remaining, his mummified hand. so he WON'T be coming back as that essentially bansihed him to the spirit world permanently. and thats why they didn't take the amnesia potion a second time.

Not to mention she hates him; considering their love affair ended with him KILLING HER, TWICE! And then leading the war to slaughter her people and family, and then misdepicting it... Do remember she was willing to be destroyed just to prevent his return. I do not see any way she could still be attracted to him (or vice versa).

As for marsh water making her well preserved... how come all the other zombies aren't preserved then? besides, things decay faster in water (i think). The ratio of decay in water, underground, and aboveground is 1:2:4... but I don't remember which is which. even in the best of conditions she would show alot of decay. The exception is extremely DRY climate, like deep in the deserts, or extremely COLD climates where its trapped in eternal ice. Under such condition a carcass is edible after thosands of years.

I don't know, the bog mummies from germany were preserved because they were in an anoxic (no oxygen) environment in the bog or something and those were very well preserved.

She would have been buried in mud. But it would take a specialist to fully explain the preservation thing in bogs.

of course though, she could have been preserved through magical means by her ex-boyfriend who may have intended to kill her so she would be preserved when he came back. remember that Alistair bean had dabbled into some really powerful magics.

um, alister DID kill her. In fact, I beleive he did it TWICE. He killed her, he brought her back, he killed her reanimated body again, and then brought her back again when he summoned the whole army of zombies.

heartbreak is death?

Alister didn't kill her twice. He just broke her heart twice. The first time would be dumping her. The second would be from him plunging a knife into her chest. Pretty sure she was just killed once.

uh right.. so he broke her heart twice, killed her once.. my bad.

If only someone would kill Alex and Turnip was turned into a human through freaky magic. Then Alex wouldn't have the ick/paranoia factor with Annabelle, and Turnip is smart so Eliza might like him. And he could help with research.

One snag: there's no one to preside over the quadruple wedding! Maybe we could turn a tree into someone, and they could become a priest...

You all know I'm COMPLETELY kidding, right?
