smjjames, you are such a pompous dork. If I were to go back and correct all the errors in your past messages I'd be wasting my time and effort. Why are you wasting yours?

ohh, ohh, fight. I was wondering how long this would take.

Whoa, what's all this then? This place is too small to support any flame wars. Friendly discussion, that's what I like to see.

I made that last night so I was tired and so probably overlooked stuff about what others said. No harm meant... now lets take a deep breath and calm down a little :)

I wonder if the magic link that allows the SC Book of the Dead to do its work is somehow related to Vedalia being able to sense what's going on between Barlow, Crystal, and Annabelle.

So Alex went to Annabelle for help with the photos, eh? I guess he isn't too set in his ways after all.

LOL did you go back and check?............................
id hate to blame Alex.....but 5 yrs ago he was probably even more obessed with demon hunting, since barlow probably didnt believe or want to do anything....
it's his knowledge, i guess overall that makes him a suspect...bc who else would know about the books... it would be inconspicous to check
but its also hard to believe that he would be capable of murder....
eh i dont know

I think he is well capable of murder, he did try to kill Crystal in the second story, after all. I don't think he thinks of it as murder it it is a demon who gets hurt. But I don't think he did it.

For some reason, I find that any suspect that's so obvious, isn't the person who commited the crime. Does anyone feel that way too?

well, logically the first place to start in a homicide is the spouse, but we don't know anything about George Mcguffin or he never existed in Spider Cliff and Alex said there is no record of them.
While Alex looks like a good suspect, I'm not sure at 11 or 12 (barlow said he was 10 years old, 5 years ago) he would have been strong enough to do some of the work needed, plus his mom probably watched over him more than now as a teenager so she would have suspected something. but honestly, there aren't enough facts to point at anybody right now and the stuff is still circumstantial.
I also looked back in the Wed. that wasn't at the secret archives cause I thought I saw a sword in there or something as Eliza said that a sword or axe caused the big hole. All there is in there is one HUGE Medieval axe which has got to wiegh 100 pounds or something. There could still be another sword or axe somewhere else though that we don't know about yet.
and I agree with you NAS, the fact that her name (and probably Esmeralda) doesn't show up in the SC BotD (Spider Cliff Book of the Dead)could be another mini-clue. Maybe it was someone who knew how the book worked that killed the demon.

time for some archive searching...

I have a feeling they are going to have to delve into the records up to 20 years ago or more to see who is listed as bieng in SC up to 5 years ago and some other stuff. but in short, I have a feeling that part of the answer to this mystery will be found in some records up to 5 years ago or more.

hey. i am a new member who discovered s. cliff 2 weeks ago and jason has effectively prevented me from having a life. you people can be my support group cuz i can literally think of nothing else. Anyway, before getting an account I read everything so i will theorize... theorise.... theeoryze... ANYWAY. also rebecca with her lie-detectorness would have (hopefully) noticed if alex killed someone. i mean, eyes in the back of her head AND supernatural powers? purleez. im going for time-travel idea personnally.
anyway nice to meet the gang :)
