my hunch was right, the Oracle's prediction was directed at Rebecca. She may have said she was going to get slimeweed to cover up for something else cause she probably wasn't even planning on getting the slimeweed then, but is doing something else.

also, I don't think it was annabelle, because Rebecca left around 4, but Annabelle had the clippers for two hours and they were trimming plants the whole time. So despite Alex bieng all emotional (which is understandable) and thinking Annabelle might have done it. the timeline leaves her out.

If it was an actual kidnapping or something, this leaves Eliza and the Sherriff without alibis atm, but they don't have any motives, So I think Rebecca was lying and using that as a cover while she did something else she probably doesnt want anybody to know about.

I wonder if there were any brains in that soup Annebelle made...

The next chapter should reveal something good while they are searching.

I think the corpse is a red herring here, one made to distract from something else.

the best thing I can come up with is that the corpse and the books weren't all that were in those graves, maybe Barlow somehow managed to literally dig up the past, wouldn't be too out there given that he was using enchanted tools.

perhaps rebecca was an evil witch intent on destroying spidercliff like crystal but had a change of heart had alex and then along the way accidentally reverted back to evil killed mrs mcguffin and tried to cover it up until barlow found it

And she was the one behind the incident in the mid 80s, those psychology books he dug up were marked as a clue. but it could be a red herring thrown at us.

I wonder what the method was that she almost destroyed spider cliff, those enchanted tools have something to do it I believe.

As for where they haven't looked, they should look below the city in the maze of sewers and various rooms.

Dr. Kibbles Sawbones once did a psychological study of a demon living in spider cliff, proving that the so called "demon nature" that supposedly caused demons to do bad things didn't exist...maybe this has something to do with this?

I have a big idea here, the invasive plants, the fact that the tree mentioned is a Chinese tree whos bark is used as an astringent, and piercing nettles is just Jasons way of referring to stinging nettles, which I also yahooed and they have been used for various aliements by varuous ppl in the past.

I think it was Rebecca that almost destroyed the town, through introducing invasive species, then she realized her mistake and tried to control the invasive species. and maybe the slime weed started growing more out of control and she is trying to control it.

also, the going ons with the paper mammals is another way of describing a balance that has been upset. so the ecological balance has been upset and rebecca is trying to do something.

as long as the paper mammals arent killing each other though. I'm guessing the paper mammals with the biggest nests are the most dominant, so they are like taking down the leaders or something. and like Crystal said, something has really riled them up.

that makes me think, is Turnip an oppressed low ranked mammal (in paper mammal society) or like what, because in order to start a revolution there has to be a common, strong desire for something or a strong dissatisfaction about something.

That's right... 5 clues in this one. (Actually there might be a few more points of interest, but I can't tell you what's important... yet)

You now have everything you need to know, and the really astute among you might already know where Rebecca is. Get those guesses in, because on Friday, the case will be closed!

As usual, I'll start answering your questions in this thread tomorrow. I'll let you know when, so hold those questions until them. In the meantime, there are a lot of new clues to digest.
