Correct. The sheriff was elected in 1976. The incident he mentioned happened around mid-1980s. More will be known soon...

then that would have been about 15 years earlier than the assumed burial. Like one of them said, the corpse could easily have been killed in the mid 80's and moved to that grave many years later. However it would have been someone who had knowledge of the origional burial to have done that. This pretty much rules out alex because since they are younger than I am (I'm 21), and I was born in '83, so they would have been only a few years old, or not even a year old.

heres a thought. maybe Alex's father got killed during the incident, we don't know anything about his father and absolutely nothing has been said. It might be that it is simply too painful a memory for Rebecca and in a way, Alex. So they just don't want to talk about it. Alex's reaction to the finding of the corpse could mean he knows his father was killed by a demon and just got scared. Heck, his whole obsession with demons could be explained by that if his father really was killed by a demon during the incident.

That's an interesting theory, but it could be that it was just Alex and Rebecca that moved to Spider Cliff. I don't think Alex's dad even came with them. And maybe the corpse wasn't murdered, perhaps she did suicide? Like killing herself before any more danger could come to the city like what Crystal was willing to do in the beginning. But that only leads to more questions of how the body even got into the grave in the first place...

kinda hard to stab yourself in the back of the head with an axe or sword. of course though a mechanism of some kind could have been devised.

Yea, you're probably right, I had forgotten that Rebecca came from the city, theres nothing saying that Alex wasn't born in Spider Cliff though. but anyhow they have been living there for a while since Barlow said they had climbed that old tree when they were ten. As far as Alex not remembering the fall, its possible as Sherriff only remembered walking and then waking up some days later but didn't remember the actual brick due to the concussion..

Heh heh...

Am I the only one here who is starting to notice a theme running through all these events? Something along the lines of "things changing"?

Anyone remember the doggie chew toys in the Bean mansion's basement? And the skeleton they found was a dog-demon's...coincidence or conspiracy?

Posted by smjjames, 10:44pm, 4 Oct, 2005

I checked about the 'chew toys' he does say thats what they are, but they never owned a dog in the house. He may have known from other ppl who used to live in the town who owned dogs and knew those were dog chew toys. Its possible the dog-demon used em.

theres also the Demonic writing there, but that is likely not related to this case as Crystal said a human wrote that, plus it was to open the door down there.

I think maybe the demon has been hidden in the secret room as well

Posted by Jawaookie, 11:38am, 5 Oct, 2005

That seems unlikely because they would have risked another round with Alistair since he wasn't destroyed until recently and both groups took amnesia potions to forget about the whole thing. They wouldn't have remembered about the secret room.

Anyway, does it seem interesting that everyone knew about the secret passages in the Bean House? I'm not sure what connection it has to this story but how did the information about those secret passages leak out? Surely not Vedelia. I guess I'm thinking if everybody knew there were secret passages, then everybody knew about the demon. Strange logic but still kinda makes sense.

Well Annabelle found them while exploring, and so did Crystal. Turnip found at least one while doing some investigation of his own. and Alex has had many years to find them as I'm sure he did as a kid.

I'm not sure if Sherriff and Eliza know much about the secret passageways. Rebecca likely does.

It may have been common knowledge that there are secret passageways, but not everybody knew what they were.

I wonder what the next chapter will be. Maybe they'll discover something big, dunno.

An asian demon? Another thing pointing towards Crystal. I know it couldn't be her, but still. And there has been no Demon Slayer between this Blake and Vedalia. Also, isn't the slayer title something herodatory? why was the demon hunter a Blake? Was Vedalia too young and the other Beans too old? Was Vedalia not really a Bean, something like Barlow? Does it matter?

I like the conversation where Alex admits, in a way, that he is dressing up to try and impress the girls, maybe Crystal.

It seems to me, like in all of the other stories, that no matter what is happening either Rebecca or the Sheriff know more about it than everyone else, and they never seem to phased about what is going on.

I don't recall how long Turnip has been around for, but with how quietly he floats around he may or may not have overheard or seen something concerning this.
