Code-breaking Challenge!

Posted by jasonblue, 11:03pm, 30 May, 2006

Okay, time for the big Sprawling Code-cracking jamboree!

Here are two code messages that won't appear in the story. If you want the 150 mammon prize, be the first to crack these codes!

Code 1:
Z
EOZHWN

Code 2:
G
IMFCV

Rules: You have to give me both of the code words AND explain how to crack the code. The code words are short enough that you won't be able to get an answer unless you figure out how out the secret. Also, the words were randomly chosen, so guessing won't do much good. I'm confident that someone out there will crack this code, all the clues are out there. A bonus 50 mammon will be added if you send in your solution IN the code! Good Luck!

Wow! Good job, Kiriai! That's exactly the right answer. I'm giving out the full 200 for that great effort (regardless of the fact that you used the easiest key for your reply).

Now let's not spoil the fun by revealing the secret of the code. Everyone is invited to add a message in code in this thread once you've sorted it all out. Kiriai's post is a good place to start.

You guys are smart

I figured out the first one the second I read the whole "26-letter key phrase" thing, but am still lost on the second.

i'm impressed! i have absolutely no idea how to figure out the code. i am certainly glad i do not have to do this sort of thing to make a living. but then, i guess i would know how to do it or i wouldn't have that sort of job...

(sorry rambling)

Keep up the good work all you smart code-breakers!

i hope this is it
